Active Hygiene Core

Active Hygiene Core

With the active hygiene core we offer cores for sensitive wound goods for medical and food industry applications which have a reliable antibacterial effect by means of a unique surface treatment and provide long-term protection against bacterial contamination – with success. The effectiveness of this novel active hygienic core surface has been confirmed by multiple laboratory tests. These examinations were performed according to the standards JIS L 1902 (on determining antibacterial activity and effectiveness on textile products) and JIS Z 2801.

The production areas for hygiene cores at Paul & Co are certified according to the BRC Global Standard for Packaging Materials or ISO 22000.

New cutting technology

New cutting technology

Thanks to new cutting technology, Paul & Co can now offer you cores up to 3.80 metres in length not only with ends cut dust free, but also with rounded inside edges.

Your advantage:

  • Further improved hygiene when using paper cores: formation of dust at the sensitive inside edges of the cores, which could occur when they were pushed onto the winding shafts, no longer exists.

This advantage is particularly felt in cores with refined surfaces which already guarantee a low level of dust.

GUK and GUP

GUK and GUP

Do you need a spirally wound core for PE or PP films or foils or coated papers? Then our spirally wound cores with smooth surface without winding gap are exactly the right choice for you. In type GUP we can also deliver spirally wound cores with release-coated surface.

PG, PG P2000 and PGG, PGG P2000

PG, PG P2000 and PGG, PGG P2000

Are you looking for a spirally wound core with seamless surface, which is also suitable for demanding and sensitive plastic films and metal foils for the packaging and food industry? We at Paul & Co have several spirally wound cores in our range for you.

We can offer you cores with seamless and smooth surfaces and a surface waviness of < 50 µm – upon request also with adhesive strips. In type “Superfinish” you receive our cores with the highest length accuracy, sealed cut surfaces and rounded edges.

PGG T 3000

PGG T 3000

Do you need a core with a particularly hard surface, which is resistant even to the strongest adhesive tape? Then rely on our cores type PGG T 3000. We have fitted these cores with a specially treated outer ply which allows you to remove tapes absolutely residue-free. This outer ply also allows you to unwind even the last meters of your sensitive film or foil without residue. Upon request, we can also equip the inner ply with this specially treated material, thus creating an optimum protection against abrasion due to clamping elements.

NG

NG

Do you need a core for polyester, polyamide, copper films or foils and diverse applications of the electronics industry? With our spirally wound cores type NG we offer you the highest quality in surface refinement. Our cores are not only release-coated and convince through an excellent geometry, but also offer optimal characteristics of concentric rotation. This makes NG cores a competitive alternative to precision tubes of metal or compound materials. The core surface is characterised by a waviness of < 25 µm and a roughness of < 2.5 µm. This makes the core ultimately suitable for winding films and foils with thicknesses of up to 20 µm.

NP

NP

Are you looking for a spirally wound core for use in cleanrooms or as an alternative to plastic and phenolic resin cores? Your best decision in this case would be our spirally wound cores type NP. This core type convinces with an especially high quality and excellent geometric properties. As a result of its surface finish, it is ultimately suitable for use in cleanrooms or as an alternative to plastic and phenolic resin cores. You can best rely on our cores NP, if you wish to wind the thinnest polyester and copper films or foils with thicknesses of < 10 µm.

The surface waviness of these cores is < 20 µm and the roughness is < 1.5 µm.

NOVUM

NOVUM

Are you looking for a core which combines perfect characteristics with regard to surface, run and hygiene combined with exceptional optics and extraordinary haptics? With our NOVUM cores we prove that paper cores are on a par with their competition made of plastic. Whether steel bands with less than 0.22 mm thickness, cigarette paper with a grammage below 30 g/m², the thinnest polyester films or metallised foils and magnetised steel bands: our NOVUM cores are the right ones. They offer ultimate strength with simultaneous temperature stability and are the perfect, environmentally friendly replacement for high-quality winding cores made of plastic, synthetic resin or fibre-glass reinforced plastic ( ABS / PS / PP / PE ).

During development we have relied on the continuous use of special papers of primary raw materials. That is why NOVUM cores consist to 100 % of renewable raw materials and are fully recyclable. Simple disposal after use through waste paper recycling.

Our types

Spirally wound, our NOVUM cores are available to you in all conventional types – even in especially large diameters of 300 to 600 mm – and in special dimensions.

Depending on the application case and requirements, our NOVUM cores are available in the following types:

  • NOVUM-PGG
  • NOVUM-NG
  • NOVUM-NP

And as a cleanroom version (CR) with rounded inner edge and sealed cutting edges as:

  • NOVUM-PGG-CR
  • NOVUM-NG-CR
  • NOVUM-NP-CR

Our CR cores

CR stands for cleanroom. These are cores for particularly sensitive polyester and polyamide foils, which are used under rigid hygiene requirements in cleanrooms by foil manufacturers or processers. CR cores have a special finishing – an absolutely rectangular cut, rounded edges and a sealed front side. They are characterised by a seamless, smooth surface, highest abrasion resistance and drastic dust reduction.

The cores of the highest quality level NOVUM-NP-CR are classified in ISO class 6, according to ISO 14644-1 and are therewith the alternative to plastic cores.
