Dependable partner on a par

An intercultural partnership oriented towards the long term requires mutual trust and consonance in entrepreneurial values. That is no different with Paul & Co and Nippon Paper Core. One is a renowned German specialist for paper cores, the other one the largest core manufacturer in Japan. Immaculate products and perfect service for each individual customer are the standards on which they both want to be judged. The key to this is the leading know-how that both companies bring in – and continuously develop together.

Renewal of strategic alliance of Paul & Co and Nippon Paper Core

This strategic alliance of the two companies long ceased to be a trial balloon. It has already been successful for 20 years. Mitsuo Takemoto, Director at Nippon Paper Core, and Manfred Kunert, Managing Partner at Paul & Co, renewed it at a workshop in Wildflecken last month. On signing they confirm a partnership on a par with equal standards in product development and quality assurance.

“Nippon Paper Core is the perfect strategic partner for us. Just as our actions are driven by customers’ wishes, theirs are too. They are the centre and pivotal point for innovations and our impulse to keep improving. Our similar core competences and corporate values allow for joint developments at the highest level. All in all, this constitutes a unique basis for a successful cooperation”, says Manfred Kunert.

Already in 1998, Paul & Co started the strategic partnership with the Japanese core manufacturer Nippon Paper Core, N. Shikan. The ambition was and has been to offer customers in the film and foil industries products and services at the same high level. Throughout the world. Consolidation and standardisation of marketing, common product development and quality assurance guarantees a seamless supply and ensures that customers equally benefit from new products and techniques across markets in Europe and Asia. Today, both companies’ products are sold worldwide under uniform brand names and specifications. However, customers benefit from the alliance not only on the mere product level: Employees of both companies maintain close contact in order to improve work processes and make them even more efficient. In joint workshops they share their ideas and experience. A business model their customers benefit from, just as both stakeholders do.
