UPM Supplier Award 2018

For paper core manufacturer Paul & Co it is a special honour to have received this award for extraordinary performance by its long-standing customer UPM Paper, the world-leading manufacturer of graphic papers. Already for the seventh time, the well-established company from Wildflecken receives the UPM Supplier Award for best supplier in the field of packaging – a message filling Paul & Co with great pride and showing the fantastic relationship which has joined the two companies for years in the spirit of partnership.

UPM Supplier Award 2018

Senior Sourcing Manager at paper manufacturer UPM Frank Bruns was very pleased to be able to present the award at FachPack 2018 to Paul & Co’s Christoph Schmitt, Management Research & Development, and Andreas Friedel, Sales Management. In a few words Bruns summarised how satisfied he is with this cooperation: “Reliably supplying efficient solutions – that is Paul & Co’s big plus which we have been able to rely on in our work for years.”

Regular audits conducted by UPM for its most important suppliers demonstrate this with highest ratings for the manufacturer of high-quality paper cores. This does not only involve compliance with necessary standards and specifications but also improvement of workflows and common procedures. “Paul & Co places greatest emphasis on customer satisfaction. Therefore feedback is always taken seriously and also expressly encouraged. Each one’s aim there is to continually improve and not to rest on what has already been achieved – as a partner you notice that in every moment. A great feeling!” says Bruns enthusiastically.

Schmitt is more than content with this commendation: “As a family company we count on every individual’s contribution. Therefore we pass on feedback – whether it is praise, suggestion or criticism – directly to our employees and colleagues to share our delight but also to be able to collectively improve. It is not decided top-down what has to be changed but everyone contributes. Thus, ameliorations have a more sustainable effect. And if this is also expressed in a customer’s positive feedback, everyone is pleased all the more!” Friedel adds: “We have come to realise that listening is always worth it. A customer’s different requirements have to be treated individually too. Our very high ratings in the audits are the direct result of these joint efforts. From supply chain management to quality assurance up to customer service and technical support: Everyone wants the best for the customer and his success. For that is how we maintain and enhance our relationship every day. And in the end this is a win-win situation!”

The expert knowledge of paper core manufacturer Paul & Co is not surprising.
